Mrs. Kasey Koenig
Jasper High School Choir Director
The Jasper Choir Department enjoys a rich tradition of excellence, pride, and high musical standards. We have a blast singing every day and sharing the joy of music together.
Jasper currently has the largest high school choir program in Plano ISD. Jasper Choirs are consistent Sweepstakes winners at UIL contest and have received Outstanding, Best In Class and Best In Festival on our San Antonio trip competitions. Students rate high individually in Region Choir and Solo/Ensemble. Our choir members are involved in many areas at Jasper – athletics, drill team, numerous AP classes, theatre, band, HOSA, Foreign Language, etc. You can do it all! By striving to maintain our standard of excellence, the Jasper choir students continue to make our program a success while being a vital part of the choir!
Concert Requirements: 4 - 6 concerts during the year. There are opportunities to audition for solos and small group performances. We sing a variety of music – from songs you hear on the radio to standard choral classics. Concert Choir I is the course for 9th grade or students who have never been in choir. Sophomores who took choir in 9th grade sign up for Concert Choir 2. Auditions are held in the spring for placement. Extra-curricular pop groups – Legacy and Harmony – meet outside the school day, and auditions for these groups are held in the fall.
